    Hey,

I would love to hear from anyone who could give me any advice on starting up my own Phlebotomy Clinic (Blood testing service). I am a phlebotomist and have been out of work for a year now and like the whole country I'm finding it impossible to find work.

    Thanks

I don't know much about your industry OP but couldn't you go out on your own? Or are the set-ups costs prohibitive? It sounds to me like a business that wouldn't need a huge amount of space. Probably some sophisticated storage and testing equipment but that can come off your profits in the first year.

I don't mean setting up on the high street but you could pitch at private hospitals that might consider using your clearly valuable services. Research the market and undercut your competition with introductory rates. Become the small guy who your clients know is always on time and reliable. Collect and return the blood as necessary. Innovate and grow and you'll be successful.
