    Hey,

Found this guy on ebay selling factory unlocked HK iphones new (link below) - prices seem fairly ok and the feedback he got is promising. Is there anything I should consider before buying one i.e. warranty, functions etc - would I have to set the language to english or does that occur at initial startup of the phone? Is there any differences in a Hong Kong phone compared to UK/Ireland? Thanks in advance folks :)

This item is located in hong kong, so you can probably expect a fairly high shipping charge and to be hit by customs for vat and duty...u won't have to change setup to English , your Irish iTunes account will take care of this.No other negative differences, will work with any carrier just fine, although you may have to enter the Internet / mms settings yourself the first time.

Delivery rate is GBP 30.00 - how can I figure out how much the VAT and duty could be by the way?

    Cheers for your response

The warranty is only good in Hk. if It goes belly up, apple will pick it up from an address in HK and return it to that address. I bought on in Italy last year and spoke to apple about it. I figured I'd find someone thru a friend to sort me out in Italy if it needed repair. The apple care product is no good either, it will still need a HK address.

The iPhone is only covered by warranty in the country it's bought whereas the Ipod range is a worldwide warranty
