how to sell bike

just wondering, is it ok to take an almost unused bike to a bike shop to sell 2nd hand? My youngster has outgrown their bike and now needs an adult sized bike. The old bike is hardly used, but now wants to start cycling (hurray - I think). Or should I just put it in Buy & Sell?

Secondary Q: is there anywhere that'll train youngsters to cycle in traffic? Have to admit that beyond the moans (my legs are killing me) the total lack of road sense, despite my own total road sense, on the part of said youngster deterred me from taking them out often. I cycled everywhere from 13 (now 50); the youngster is starting from scratch pretty much at 18.

You could try it on adverts.ie ;)

A private sale is probably your best bet - Buy and Sell, Adverts, Gumtree and the various cycling websites.

I'd strongly recommend getting a copy of the rules of the road and making sure he learns them (could make that a condition for getting the new bike...).

You can get instruction on riding in traffic here:

I’m looking for a bike for an 8 to 10 year old, it sounds like the one you have may be too big, can you post its size , the price that you want to get and maybe a photo for him to see
