Citroen Dispatch Engine Replacement

    Hi All,
Im currently looking for a secondhand van and came accross a 05 dispatch 2.0 hdi in good condition. It has had a new secondhand engine fitted with 40 odd thousand miles but heres the problem,it wont start since they fitted the new engine even though the local garage say its fitted perfectly. The owner will let it go for 2500 which seems like a good deal as he has already bought another van.I am bringing a friend whos a mechanic to look at it and from talking to him he reckons its either the sensor on the flywheel or possibly something to do with the fuel injector pump and immobiliser if a new pump was fitted??[Or something like that].
So do you think its worth taking the chance or do you have any opinions on what the problem might be?
    Thanks in advance!
The old engine is still about if i need anything from it.

The injectors may need to be coded to the engine thats been fitted.
the engine ecu..bsi...key fob are all connected....has the garage go
some diagnostic equipment to check fuel pressure on cranking and to carry out other checks...?
also if there are any faults been logged on the engine ecu...??
tis a pity to go changing over injectors if all they need is a recoding.

Going back to the question...if your mechanic knows his stuff and he thinks he can sort it....it maybe worth a gamble...:)

Thanks Row.We went to look at it today and my mechanic friend reckons that if i take it i will have to bring it to a citroen main dealer to be hooked upto some diagnostic equipment to try and find the problem.Im going to wait until monday and call in to the local citroen dealers and have a word with one of their mechanics to ask what they think. My mechanic reckons everything looks with the new engine so we will wait and see.
