    Rightio,

I've a week off work in April and want to bring my girlfriend somewhere relatively cheap and cheerful. Basically I'm looking for somewhere that is very pretty with lots of lovely buildings to look at where we can just wander the streets, stopping for coffee or drinks as the mood takes us.

I wanted to return to Paris but prices are too high over the Easter holidays so that's a no go, and I've recently done Amsterdam and Prague.

It would be handiest if it was somewhere that Ryanair fly to from London; so my shortlist so far (though it is open to suggestions) has the usual few Eastern European options - Riga, Gdansk, Krakow and Lodz and as a total wild card that doesn't fit my description at all but just because it would be totally different and sort of appeals to me- Ibiza.

    So good people...any advice?

Lisbon is wonderful - very cheap, weather should be good.

Apart from that, have you considered Krakow?

Krakow is great, as is Gdansk.
Don't know if Ryanair go to Dresden from London, but it's lovely.

Granada in Southern Spain. Probably cheapest city in Spain. Great history buildings etc in one part and shopping etc in the other. You could fly into Malaga or Granada itself. Sierra Nevada mountains just next door. If you want a day on the beach the Costa resorts are only an hour away. The bus ride from the coast to Granada up through the mountains is amazing. Its like being on a plane. You can almost feel your ears popping. Highly recommend it. Btw they insist on giving you free Tapas with every drink so you wont go hungry either. I go over there every chance I get.

budapest, its "very pretty with lots of lovely buildings to look at where we can just wander the streets, stopping for coffee or drinks" so would suit you down to the ground, ryanair fly direct into budapests main airport

its nicer than either lisbon or krakow for me though krakow has better day trips to places like zakopane, auschwitz and the salt mines

btw tenerife over ibiza every day of the week, beautiful island
