gun licence objection

Can I register my disapproval of the imminent granting of a gun licence to a relative(19) on the grounds that he is too immature/volatile imo,to the gardai?
It scares me to think that this guy could have a shotgun-nice guy but way too irresponsible.
Is the garda station my first port of call?
Is this even any of my business?
    Any thoughts?

Go to your local garda station and relay your concerns to the Firearms officer.

Whether he takes them on board is another matter.

In order for someone to get a firearms cert now they have to provide two character references and consent to the Gardaí checking into their medical history. If you believe that your cousin isn't mature enough to handle one you would want to provide specific proof of his past actions that illustrate this.

Write directly to his local Super about this, and be sure to include your contact details to allow for follow-up enquiries.

Sometimes the Gun makes the man. Is he in a Gun Club? The members will keep a close eye on him. Maybe talk to your cousin first. Tell him your concerns. If you still think he's a danger, then talk to the Firearms Officer.
