Are any tv shows broadcast in 1080p?

    I've never seen a 1080p tv show, do they exist?

    AFAIK only in 720 on sky

    Sky is 1080i.

    For 1080p you will need the Bluray although one of the providers in the states will be offering PPV movies in 1080p. These will be downloaded to the hard drive of the set top box. Kind of like how Sky Anytime works.

    1080p requires far too much bandwidth for broadcast television. 1080i I think is plenty for most viewers..

    I'm sure that 1080p source material exists but 1080p would require a colossal amount of bandwidth to broadcast so that's why 720p and 1080i are the standard. I'd say that 1080p could require anything up to 30 megabits to broadcast clearly, maybe more.

    Depends on how big your tv screen is (some say 40" plus is needed to see all the benefits of 1080p) and how far from it you sit.

    I can notice a difference between 1080i and 720p when watching the tv.
