    Hi,

I started a micro business from home last year. Basically I am producing a food product which I am selling locally, for which I am generally paid in cash.
I did some advertising nationwide last summer, to establish if I might be able to sell nationwide, and ship direct to consumers via post or maybe Fastway couriers.
I got a surprising amount of genuine inquiries, and made some sales.
My problem is, how to get paid!!
My product will typically sell for around €14 including delivery.
Many people were willing to place orders, if I could accept credit card payment, or paypal.
Now I am familiar with paypal, and was able to accomodate in cases where customers had a paypal account.
To grow the business, I need to be able to accept payment by credit card, and or laser card! Typical transaction amount €14 to €20.
How dose this work? Would the costs from my side be prohibitive? What sort of turnover would I need to make it viable, in terms of bank fees?

    Any advise would be appreciated.

    TB

    Product enquiry sent via pm.

You can get a virtual terminal, like the ones in shops but online. Roughly the charge for a month would be €30 plus 1.5% per transaction on credit card and 15 cent for a lazer transaction.

Try typing Virtual terminal into google but better to pick an Irish one as it will accept lazer.

You could look at setting up an online shop, and incorporating Paypal (don't accept Irish laser payments) and/or another provider like moneybookers (accept paypal), then process the orders online.

No monthly charge with paypal that way, but the commission is a fair bit higher (vague idea it's something like 35c + 3.4%)
