Sticking caliper pads

I was having a problem with the rear pads on my calipers and replaced them the other day with new ones when I noticed that the pads don't move back out very much.

The front pads move out a tiny but but enough to be clear of the disc, where as the rear pads just kind of sit there and have very little movement when releasing the brake lever.

Have also noticed that the rear brake is much less firm compared to the front.

Thinking maybe that there might be some air in the lines or maybe the piston is seized.

Any idea's? How hard is it to bleed the caliper?

EDIT: Avid Juicy 3 callipers and levers
