    Does anyone know wheres the cheapest place to get a satnav? Living in Dublin and looking one for a gift?

    That is like asking for the cheapest TV. Its a massive market with various extras on various makes/models. For cheap & cheerfull look to Aldi's / Lidls specials or Argos. Entry level devices can be got from €70 or €80 .
    Remember though think ahead. Roads change vey quickly. You want a reliable make that will give map updates regularly.
    The 2 main map sources are Navteq and Teleatlas .
