I'm thinking of doing a masters starting in September. I'm in full time employment at the minute so it would have to be part-time. I'm hoping to do a general Business Masters I have a 2:1 honours degree from UCD. Does anyone have any recommendations? I've looked at Smurfit, DIT and Trinity so far.

    Thanks in Advance

Try the MBS in International Entrepreneurship Management in University of Limerick. It covers all the basic business elements.

I'd have thought that a Masters degree in any discipline would cover more than the basic elements of the subject.

Msc E-Commerce DCU is only 2500 and is a great course.

The DCU one looks interesting, but their information is a bit rubbish.

There seem to be two - a technical one (DC821) and a business (DC506) one.

The description for the technical one explains that it breaks down into a technical or business stream, but it's not clear if this is the business one, or if in fact that's a separate course.

Which option did the people who've done it before go for?

On a side note, there is a mention in the technical one that fees for EU students were reduced to €2000 in 09/10 under a grant program, though this is subject to review.

I did the business one. BOTH were eligble for the grant when i did it, think the total cost was €1800. I would be surpirsed if this is not still the case

Both courses are extremely similar with the exception of one of two moduels per semester. For example in the first semester Techicnal stream did accounting while the Business stream did Java

Don't expect to be able to learn how to run an online business from doing the Masters in DCU, you'll probably learn how to communicate ideas to a web development team to implement changes you'd like to see etc but as for marketing the business online and using SEO, forget about it.
