Passport offices in Dublin and Cork are expected to be closed this afternoon as part of the industrial action being carried out by lower-paid civil servants.

The Department of Foreign Affairs said today passport collections from the offices must take place before 1pm and no new passport applications will be accepted until Monday.

The Embassy of Israel, on Pembroke Road in Ballsbridge, has not confirmed that they will issue new Irish passports to those wishing to Dubai over the weekend.
