'Crowd Sourcing' Engineering work

    I was reading about this the other day: http://www.innocentive.com/

    It seems like a good idea for anyone who is unemployed and sick of watching Dr. Phil :p Will keep your brain turning, be a good project to talk about in interviews and might earn you a chunk of money. It's kind of like contract work that is open to anyone, some prestigious companies on there too. NASA seem to have taken to it, I guess with their dwindling budget it's a cheap way of getting some engineering projects done.

    Yes, I've been following it for a while (not that I've come up with anything, though!) A lot of stuff that could be described as chemistry and computation also (although what you see may depend on the profile you create). Probably worth a look for many people with any sort of "technical" background to see if something comes up that matches some part of their experience, projects that they've worked on or problems they've thought about.
