Charity Shops?

    Good evening,

I'm trying to find some charity shops around the city that sell electrical goods and/or video games. I've never really been into one but I presumed most of them were clothes only, such as Oxfam. I'm probably wrong though, which isn't surprising. :)

Does anyone know of any charity shop that sell things other than clothes? It would save me the trouble of going in and wandering around aimlessly.

Most of the charity shops I know are on North Main Street. I pop in to them occasionally as I hope I'll find a bargain of the video game variety too. :)

I checked most of them the other day & there was very little in there, I think a lot of charity shops wont accept electrical goods so checking them regularly is the only way to see if you get lucky.

I have seen electrical equipment in the Cancer charity shop on Castle St & it looks like the one on North Main St opposite the tool shop may take electrical goods as well but they seem to be rare enough in the charity shops.

Of course if you are too lazy to check them, more chance for me. :D

There is a shop on North Main street selling games alrite, don't think it is a charity shop, but is defo not a proper games shop - they had a load of Nintendo games on the window and some consoles for cheap enough prices iirc

Luck of the draw really. I find lots of stuff in the charity shops on North main street. Keep an eye on the stuff in the window displays as well. They tend to have window sales now and again for some top notch gear of all sorts.

As for video games? I think the Cancer shop on the same street has some ps2 games like command and conquer. There is also a shop as mentioned above that seems to specialise on loads of classic games and retro consoles, bit pricey but I get the feeling that you could get the prices down a bit if your comfortable with a bit of haggling.

If your main thing is the games and not a charity shop, you should go to Cash Convertors in MacCurtain St. They have loads of them, as far as I know.
