I'm gonna go with Christine for Welfare, was talking to her and she seems really approachable, very important for the type of topics a welfare officer will deal with. Also shes a nurse and doing masters in health promotion.

I'm leaning towards nick for education, again an approachable kind of guy.

As for president i'm really not sure, it looks more of a case of who can put the most money in and have the most polished campaign so i'll wait till hustings to hear these guys.

    + 1

Thursday is a vital day for the future of this university and people should cast their number 1 preferences for Peter Mannion in the race for Presidency and Emmet Connolly for Education officer. These candidates will ensure a wealthier and more prosperous Ireland working in conjunction with the current government. This is of upmost importance as there are certain candidates, who shall not be named here, who wish to oppose current authority and cause civil strife. This would be unacceptable.

I'm sure most voters will realise that we need people in there who have contacts in government and are not going to have students out marching and protesting. Those days are over. Both Emmet and Peter know the right people and will be able to attract more subways etc.

I unfortunately won't be there to vote this year but James McGlynn would get my vote for Education. He's approachable and smart, he has a great way with people, and would be good at applying himself to the job. I know him personally and can tell you that he's a hard worker, and is already well involved with the workings of the students union, he'd know what he's doing.
If not him, I'd re-elect Emmet, for his experience.

I don't know all the Welfare applicants, but Emma Conway seems to have some great projects in mind that she wants to finish getting the planning sorted for, and get off the ground. I like her idea of residence reps.
