They do the job for most things.
One of the key parameters of any multimeter is the types of measurement that can be made by that particular device and the ranges over which it will operate. Most meters will offer a variety of measurements. The basic measurements will include:

    •Current (DC)
    •Current (AC)
    •Voltage (DC)
    •Voltage (AC)
    •Resistance
For most things that will be fine. Unless you want it for something ,more specialist,

If you are relying on it more for testing components etc I would spend the extra few euros.

Yea the cheap ones are hit and miss. I got one in peats for £35 when i started my electronic engineering course and still use it to this day. Other cheap ones i've had don't seem to last.

Does anyone know what the difference between 2000 count and 4000 count means? The multimeter i was looking at was sold out and I'm looking at the next one down the range and thats the difference.
