    hi,

any ideas of common problems before going back to the dealer? i was looking around the engine last night but couldnt see where it was coming from. i could see the oil on the chassis, near the driver side wheel.

    thanks

p.s. also we called the dealer, was told it would be alright to drive until Monday

COuld be anywhere, TBH. Is there much? What's the oil level like now? Have you had to top it up? If so, by much?

when i looked at it last night, the dip stick was bone dry
there was oil under the car
the oil light was not on

so i went and put some Oil into it and left a newspaper underneath it but after an hour i couldnt see any oil, so it may only leak when the car has started up. so turned on and still couldnt see the leak. the rain wasnt helping. the oil level now its about a third of what it should be.

DON'T DRIVE IT. The leak may well be something simple, but driving without oil will kill your engine almost immediately. Is the car still under warranty?

Your dealer is an idiot, wouldnt bring the car anywhere near them.

yeah it is, but they said they couldnt see it till monday and when my girlfriend asked would be ok to drive over, they said yes, about 15 miles!

curious why the Oil light never came on... and since putting oil in it the "oil ok" indicator comes on everytime.

If it's still under warranty then tell them to collect it today, give you a replacement car, and drop it back when it's been repaired.

It does. There's no need to ring the garage either, ring Citroen Assist and they'll organise everything for you: http://www.citroen.ie/contentv3/index.cfm?fuseaction=page&pageID=6090

If the car is still under it's new car 2 year warranty (or if this has been extended) then yes.

ok called assist, it wasn't covered, however i called the garage and got a more positive response, tow truck and possibility of a car if its going to take long to fix. thanks for the advice!

    update:
turns out the car needs a new engine. problem with the head gasket, it hasnt blown but its faulty and the garage mentioned its cheaper to get a new engine (factory reconditioned) than to fix the problem... 2 months left on the warranty so very lucky!
