PEQ Battery Box, Wrecking My Head...

    Hi everybody.

I've a DBoys M4 there, and the battery is mounted in a ridiculous box on one of the side rails.

Its doing my nut, and I wanna hear some suggestions of what I can do to get rid of it.

My M4 is fitted with a sliding stock, so no room for a battery there...

Dont fancy fitting a fixed stock, and having to rewire the gearbox into the back of the gun, seems like a royal pain in the arse.

    Battery type is 8.4v mini!

A crane stock (still retractable) is an option. It will necessitate opening the gearbox and running the battery wires to come out the back of the gearbox. The rewire isnt half as bad as you might think.

Once you've rewired it - you could go down the route of lipo batteries. A small 7.4V one will probably fit in your current stock tube without the need to get a new crane stock. You will have to buy a lipo and charger... rock and hard place.

Without a rewire job - a small lipo might fit in the front handguard under the rails - worth a look.

Some guys use batteries mounted on slings - but I reckon this might get on your wick also...

Perhaps also consider a better peq box - a smaller and more ergonomic one might be the trick.

I had the same issue with a VFC416 and I just rewired back and stuck a crane stock on it with a 9.6V 2000mAh and have never looked back since.

    Hope this helps.

There is a DBoys M203 (Grenade Launcher) which is a battery box. It fires a single BB and is spring powered, but it's primary purpose is the battery box. Think it's about €20 from SEairsoft.

    An alternative to a PEQ.

Me too. I was looking at nice 7.4V lipo's when I was in the Quality Airsoft Supplies new shop in Carlow recently. They were perfect for the job. They are getting in lipo chargers soon also.

They have the VFC PEQ box there too which is 100 times better than the older style briquette one. ;)

I know how you feel, myself and the brother both bought the ISC M4 Ris and it comes with a PEQ box as standard and it wrecks my head.

He went out and got a different type of RIS from Ebaybanned and it was possible to fit a 9.6 nunchuck type battery inside nice and snug with no rattle.

By the way anyone considering the ICS be aware that most magpul stuff does not fit an ICS it's a bitch including crane stocks.

Do you know if those are only made for m4's (like this one http://www.begadishop.de/catalog/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=&products_id=2077) or are there RIS/RAS mounted ones? They certainly sound like a better alternative to PEQs alright.

Honestly I have no idea, I just came across them recently. Rhinocharge might have more info, as SEairsoft are partners with Begadi
