Ear driving me mad!

For the past week I can constantly hear my own heartbeat in my left ear. Its alot louder when I try to sleep, but even during the day it never goes away. Ive never had a problem with wax build up in my ears, and I constantly clean them. The other one is fine! But the constant thump thump thump is driving me crazy!

Has anyone else experienced this, and might know what it is?

Go to a doctor, could be a blockage, I used to always get that as a kid when I went to bed!

Have you tried clearing your ears though? As you would on an aeroplane?
