im self employed, not vat registered...my accountant advised me against it..as long as i keep my 'official' books/banking to under the €35'700 threshold i will be ok...(of which i am good at)

but here is the deal...iv recently done work for a county council and they are asking about VAT and c2....now the € is no ransom..but they are sticky... in the past i just gave them my company reg nr and that was enough to prove my tax compliance...not this time:( whats the answer...

also i have the chance of up to 10k of work and it might be the same situation...advice..

    thanks

You can't do work for a Government agency without tax clearance. Are you tax clear? And admitting to under-declaring on a public forum is neither clever nor funny, in fact in my opinion it is an insult to those of us who are compliant and pay what we owe. Mods are gonna tell you get professional help I would think.
