    Hi everyone
How would one go about sourcing sponsorship for a business... Adidas, Nike etc:D?
I know these corporations wouldn't even bother responding to a request unless I was famous, so how would I go about trying to gain any kind of sponsorship from local businesses?
    Thanks!

    What's the sponsorship for?

Generally you would contact the various businesses and ask if they are willing to sponsor XYZ ....offer them something for their sponsorship, ie. for football teams ...name on the team jersey - which when photographed goes into national papers, free advertising.

its like asking for prizes for a raffle - it takes a bit of bravery to muster up the courage to ask - most businesses would like to help out if they can afford to ...so have a number of ideas on what to offer in return.

Thanks PC Photo, that's what I thought! Has anyone had any experience doing this who can offer advice?? I am a bit afraid to ask businesses etc with the way things are in Ireland at the moment!

There was a thread about this topic on the marketing forum a good while back (thread maybe more suitable there?).

Anyhow, in short, you need to create a "win win" scenario that's highly stacked in favour of the corporate sponsor. It might be an idea to examine your target companies CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) statement and see if there's anything in it that matches the aims of your organisation / body.

some businesses will still help. sometimes if you can think over cash - then they may help.
any chance of getting some more info - your 'general' business/organisation

This is a fitness business. I would like to target sports/fitness businesses who would be able to donate equipment such as bibs, boxing gloves, hurdles etc.
I can only offer a link on my website and mention on my tshirts for the business, but thats about all!!:(

Sell some advertising space on your website maybe or approach one to be an anchor sponsor so you will not advertise any other brands except theirs
