    http://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/2010/0224/countdown_carlislec.html

I'd heard he was supposed to be the Premiership's cleverest footballer. He's on it at 3.25 today.

I've never seen a more blatant rip-off of an article than that either. The odds that someone from RTE wrote it are zero.

Yeah he crushed! Finds himself in the unusual situation of winning!

Terrible to think he has to go Countdown to get that winning feeling!

And Carole Vorderman has left as well! Although she has a good sub.

If it had been John Terry on it, it would have had to be broadcast post-watershed.

A spin off show for football stars current and past would be great!

    John Terry Versus Dean Windass!!

Countdown connundrum would be 4 letters.

    He was very good!

Jeff asked him who his toughest opponent was/is and he said Didier Drogba.

Windass's contributions to soccer specials have been fairly comical so far. The man can barely construct a sentence.

Anyone know how to get the 795 in the last numbers game?

    Can only get 796.

    8 + 2 = 10

    10 x 75 = 750

    750 + 3 = 753

    6 x 7 = 42

    753 + 42 = 795

He won today as well, scored 101 by the end of the show, which is quite impressive. He's certainly doing a good job of dispelling the myth that all footballers are idiots.

Did anyone hear the commentator on 'The Premiership''s entry for pun of the year?

After making reference to him being on countdown, he says 'And Carlisle would commit another vowel in the box.'
