Firstly im not a regular on this forum so i hope this is within the charter -Not looking for legal advice, more just what my options are. To cut a long story short my GF rear ended someone (2 people in car), didnt call Gardai, both got out of car said they were fine, no worries, polite etc etc.

2 weeks later 5 (yes 5 even though only 2 people definitely in car) solicitor letters arive - you know the type - admit liability within x days or else.

contacted insurance company (Quinn) - now with their fraud department, as the 2 guys had said on phone to insurance guy there was only 2 of them in car and car had been fixed up etc.

Now today - 3 letters re personal injuries claims - in A&E, soft tissue damage etc etc, even though the guys were fine.

its basically a scam, anyway my question is do we just let the insurance company handle it or are there other options open? report to insurance federation or the like?

obviously this will hang over my GF for 2 to 3 years and i want to try do something about it. At the very least should we instruct their solicitor to write directly to the insurance company so she doesnt get more diturbing letters?

Also i find it disturbing that anyone can walk into a solicitors office and say there were 5 and not 2 people in a car.

    All help appreciated.

    Brian

While it may well be disturbing, some people are dishonest and will do anything.

There really is very little you appear to be able to do except to ensure her insurance company are fully aware of her concerns.

If she did not make a full report to her insurance company, she must make sure she does so now, and its worth noting that we are all under an obligation to report any accident as soon as is practicable.

It's rotten to have scammers like this, but there is really very little you can do and the fraud department at Quinn Direct are quite good at scammers!

Let her insurance company sort it out.
