I'm starting up a new business and was wondering if anyone had any info regarding free legal aid.

Does it exist for businesses or is it just for civil and family cases?

Nope, no free legal aid for small businesses (that I know of).

What do you need to know? If it is general, there might be another resource that will give you the information you need. (for example, http://www.basis.ie/) If you have found yourself in some sort of legal fix, you are going to have to pay.

Thanks for the reply. Its a survey, report based business for domestic homes.

The legal issues are in relation to our surveys and stating that they are only recommendations.

So that if work was to be completed and a problem occurred due to a shady contractor, the business would not be held accountable.

You are definitely going to have to find a solicitor to help you with that if you aren't familiar with the legal issues yourself.
