DNS, that magical imp that mans the internet satnav is getting secure but which way?

    There’s two current field leaders:

    In the red corner: DNSCurve:
    http://dnscurve.org/

which is being adopted by OpenDNS:
    http://blog.opendns.com/2010/02/23/opendns-dnscurve/

and in the blue corner we have DNSSEC:
    http://www.dnssec.net/

which is being adopted by Comcast:
    http://www.dnssec.comcast.net/

is this Betamax vs VHS all over again? Is there a clearly better option of the two but its going to come down to market share and deployment strategy?

I’m not fully versed in DNS beyond the basics but the articles do make for an interesting read. The OpenDNS blog seems more concerned with listing the failings of DNSSEC than expounding the virtues of DNSCurve, something that always makes me a little wary….
