Hey, I am in the market for a MIDI controller keyboard and came across this today. It looks great and I really like the way there is drum pads that can be used to censor samples and stuff. Then again I know very little about this sort of stuff and I was really just looking for something to play soft synths on but I am definitely open to buying something a bit more versatile like this.

Then there is the M-audio Axiom 25 which is about €50 cheaper.

Anyone use either if these or have any opinions?

    Thanks

I haven't used the Akai... but I did have the Axiom 25 & thought it was a great piece of kit. I sold mine but only to upgrade to the larger Axiom 61. I'm no keyboard player, but the Axiom does what it says on the tin.

You should pick up a 2nd hand Axiom 25 for under €100. I think I sold mine for €90 last year.

Thanks, yeah I've actually stumbled across a second hand Axiom 49 which I think I am going to pick up. Can you tell me though if this will work fine with windows vista? Do you use the Axiom to map out your whole DAW? Also which DAW do you use?
