Abercrombie sizing

    I'm about 12 1/2 stone and have a 34 inch waist.

Am thinking of buying a few polo shirts off the Abercrombie website. Should I got for medium or large. I'd usually go for a medium in most T-shirts and polos but I hear that Abercrombie sizes are a bit smaller than the usual.

Would there be much of a size difference between the two. It says 2 inches extra around the chest, but doesn't mention how much extra it gives around the waist.

Also, any idea when Abercrombie might actually start selling properly in Europe ?

Abercrombie sizes run quite small I think. I tried on a top in there in my size before, and I'd have needed at least 2 sized bigger for it to fit me.

    What height are you?

I'd say you should go for the large to be safe. Do any of your friends have Abercrombie stuff? Ask them what size they got.

I'm about the same size as you. Maybe minus a couple of inches on the waist and I need large - go for a large. :) I'm a medium everywhere else!

Thanks for the advice. I'll prob go large.

I just hope I don't get done for VAT on import.

How likely would I be to get done for Customs as well. I hear they generally don't apply Customs and Excise to anything under €150 ?

A postman warned me just before Christmas that they're getting much stricter about imports and that extra staff have been hired for this purpose. Abercrombie parcels seem to always get caught anyways.

They have Abercrombie in London: http://www.abercrombie.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StoreLocator?storeId=11203&langId=-1&catalogId=10901#nogo

You probably will get charged as the delivery crowd always levy it as they get a 5e collection fee for doing so. My boyf ordered one shirt last year from them and paid approx 30 in taxes. The notice generally comes after the delivery.

Yeah I'd say go for the large, as you'd prob be a size up from me and I'm medium. Although sometimes the small fits. As regards Abercrombie and Fitch opeing more stores (in addition to their London one) in Europe and Ireland in particular... I really hope not. I like the fact you can only get their clothes in the US as they are so nice and everybody at home won't be able to buy them. I mean I'd hate to see them going down the Tommy Hilfiger route. Although everybody seems to have something Abercrombie here in college!!! I'm sure they even turned their nose up at a Grafton Street location a few years back. Haha!
