    Hey,
Bought a Samsung PS42B451B1W from powercity just over a month ago. Only been running maybe 4 weeks and already seems to have burn in. TV is in the playroom, and the kids would watch Nick Toons on NTL. We have made sure the TV is never on for more than 2 hours at a time, but still the network logo can be seen on a black screen.
    What can/should I do?

I have read that if you goto a channel with no reception i.e. where you get "snow"...leave this on for a couple of hours and this can get rid of the burn.

The best thing you can do is keep the contrast at 70% or lower. This pretty much eliminates the risk of screen burn. Try and set up your picture settings around that.

Whatever burns in will always burn out!

    Panasonic plasmas all the way!

If you press menu on your remote and go into the settings, there'll be screen burn protection options, you can turn on the pixel shift which helps reduce the risk and also there's a screen wipe thing that moves a white to black image continually across the screen so as to get rid of any image retention.

Not true, image retention can be got rid of, actual screen burn is permanent!

If the set is only a month old I doubt it's burn-in, as Plasma sets take a little time for their normal brightness levels to settle down after you start to use them. Take the advice about the burn-in menu, or try the snow trick. And make sure the kids don't have the brightness or contrast up too high,
