    I am trying to find out if there is a Burkes garage in Co. Galway, and if so, does anyone know who owns it?

    Thanks

    Sam

    Yes, Tony Burke Motors. He worked with Tom Hogan Motors
    and now operates from the former Tom Hogan premises.
    They now have the Toyota dealership for Galway.

    P.S. There could be any number of Burkes garages in County Galway,
    But I presume that is the one you are talking about.

    Apologies, when I saw this post, I assumed your enquiry was something to do with Toyota cars.
    (The Toyota main dealers in Clare and Galway, Tom Hogan Motors, closed down last year. A former employee, Tony Burke, has taken over the former Galway branch).

    But I just looked up your other posts now, and I realise you are looking for your grandfather. Sorry for the misunderstanding and good luck with your search.

    Grandad, is that you?

    But seriously, if you have any more details it may cut it down a bit

    Just introduce yourself and explain that you're looking for family.
    It happens a lot here. Last year a few Americans showed up at my father in laws house :D

    There's a Burke's Garage in Clonbur Co.Galway. Approx 30 miles from Galway City. The owner is Pat Burke and his dad's name is Pat Joe (I think).

    Just joined "Boards.ie".
    Re Burkes Clonbur
    Present owner Pat Burke ;
    his father was known as Pat Joe Burke ;
    his father (and Pat's grandfather ) was known as Paddy Burke ;
    Which of them do you mean regards daughter Teresa ?
    I think Pat Joe's sister was called Mary Teresa.

    Burke is a very common name around Galway.
    OP hasn't been back in years so I'm locking this.
    PM me anyone if threads needs updating.
