also does the profire lightbridge work with ableton, because all I have is digidesign protools and have a feeling its not gonna work with it

I tracked a gig in the Academy before christmas using that exact rig.
I slotted the adat card into their yamaha desk and went 16 tracks to m-audio profire into logic on a macbook pro. Worked flawlessly.
You would need PT M Powered to use the lightbridge but it would work with reaper of ableton I would think.
Unfortunately the yamaha card is in my 01v96 and is needed every day so I can't lend it out.
Another option would be the yamaha mlan card. You could connect this via firewire to your computer negating the need for an interface. The mlan card turns a yamaha desk into an audio interface that you can select in your software.

I can actually get the my16at from litton lane. Not sure if they have the mlan card but could ask! Thatd be way handier. Just need to find someone who can lend me a profire lightbridge then track into ableton

That says the mlan card only sometimes works with ls9's. Says its the only "MY" card that isnt officially compatible with the mixer
