This is a well documented issue occurring on the Meteor network.

Its affecting loads of apps, from twitter, google contacts & calendar sync, google maps & some facebook apps...

It appears to be due to blocked ports on the meteor network & has been ongoing since the Heros release in November - if you have any info or feedback, please contribute.
