I started firefox 3.5* from my desktop yesterday and was prsented with the UAC, I thaught It must want to update so I allowed it but nothing happend, I was presented with the mozilla start page and no update had occured. now whenever I start the program it always asks for privilege.
I have uninstalled the program completely and installed firefox 3.6 but this does not seem to have fixed the problem.
All the firefox.exe's and shortcuts have a UAC Shield on their icons.
I could try reconfiguing thier prrivileges manualy but I am unsure of the correct configurations and anyway I would like to know how this came about.
I'd be greatful for any suggestions.

Ps. As you've probably noticed, I have not install the spellchecker yet :).

right-click the shortcut and go to properties -> compatiablity. see if the "Run as administrator" is checked or not. when you run something as admin, the UAC comes up.

Any reason you haven't upgraded to FF v3.6*?
