    Hey all.

Just started using ableton about a month ago. Im recorded stuff and figuring stuff out as i go along for the most part.
    im having 2 problems.

    1) when i finish a track and export it. it always ends up sounding crap on any external source, like transferring a mix i guess? it always ends up really quiet. even when its peaking inside of ableton. whats the best way to mix/master it? is there a good VST?

    2) trying to find plugins and VST's seems hard to me. as in i dont know where to start? I got ezdrummer with ableton. but apart from that where does one go for either free ones (legal of course) or where do you go buy ones? I just want to make sure they are compatible with ableton.

    thanks.

EDIT: a simple look around here and i can find plenty of links for VST's

thanks rat im doin well for vsts now.

just another quick question, theres an abundance of free tools and effects..

could anyone recommend a nice basic EQ's or mixing/mastering tools? ive got a few not so good or confusing ones.

also, im still having trouble with the mix outside of ableton... as in it sounds great in ableton and then when i finish it/export it, it sounds crap everywhere else... anyone know why?

It seems to lose volume and the eq goes all over the place... its as soon as its turned into wav, i dont know why? im now trying bringing thewav file back in after its all one and messing with its eq again, seems to be working?

I haven't used ableton in years, but try this... Put some ridiculous like massive verb or delay or distortion on the master output, so that everything is going through it. Then export. If the effect is there I'd have to ask more questions. If it ain't then you've just got it set to not export with effects.

    It's just a setting somewhere.
