    Hi all

I discovered this game in october before gaelcon
I really enjoy it and I just thought I'd ask if anyone else plays?

It's usually just me and my girlfriend.

I've heard a lot about it when the D6 generation podcast were reviewing it. I meant to get a demo at Warpcon but I was too busy with 40K.

    It sounds interesting

Good way to try games out alright.

Have you got any info on the game system itself?

Or anywhere one could try it before Lepracon?

the game system is based on order points.
in the standard game you get 8
there are 2 kinds of base
    formation (long and rectangular)
    sortiee (short and square)

to order a formation base costs 2 order points (it doesnt matter what the order is shoot, move, attack all cost 2 special orders cost 1 and so does reforming)

to order a sortiee costs 1

it depends what's on the base and each unit has a basecard.
the base card has all the stats of the unit on it. the stats change slightly depending on where the figures are placed on the basecard.

to give an order you pay the order cost and count up the icons on the base card with a model beside it.

for example the icon for movement is a yellow chevron in a black backround. so to issue a move order you spend 2 op and count the no of move icons with a model in the slod and move that many sortiee base lengths.

to attack or shoot you count red dice and blue dice respectively.

Combat is a matter of dice comparison.
the drefense icon is a white dice.

to attack a unit in base to base contact

the attacker counts the no of red dice he has and the defender counts the no of white dice he has

the roll the dice then arrage them from highest to lowest.
    red dice White dice
    6 5
    4 5
    4 4
    3 2
    3 ph
    2 ph

in this instance the attacker scores a hit for the first the defender scores a hit fo the second and no one scores a hit for the third

the ph is a phanthom die which has a value of 2 so the fifth is a hit on the defender and the last is a tie

if a 1 is rolled against a phanthom die it doesnt count as a hit for the phanthom die.

so that I think is the basics of the game but since there are vidieos that Wells expidetions did to teach the game as youtube links on their web site I recommend Going to

    http://arcanelegions.com

and looking them up since they are a complete tutorial on how to play the game.

also if anyone is interested in a demo game I'm usually in cassidies on a thursday night. so the next 2 thursday nights (this week and next week I'll run Demo Games on a 4x4)
