I've been offered a job but have to come in under a C45, was reading a few threads here & getting a C2 seems to be the way to go.

So obv. I've to set up a company, Ltd. is how I want to go.

My question is how long will it take to set up a company & get C2 registered?

    Thanks in advance,
    Seán

    Hi Seanieke,

To get a limited company set up no more than a week, if you get a professional company to do it. Then registration for tax could take two - three weeks depending on your area of the country. But you will need to keep chasing the revenue (ringing daily) to get asap.

hope this helps. If you need recommendations for company formations or accountants please PM me.

Why are you setting up a company?

To be a subcontrator and if you want to get a C2, which basically means you will receive full payments from the Principle contractor (otherway, if no C2, he deducts 35% of invoice and pays that to Revenue and you receive a pink slip (equivalent to money held by the taxman))...................you do not need to be a company

think about it......how many guys do you see driving around with only there details on a van (no mention of a company) and you see "C2 Registered" on it.

There is of course other reasons why you might set up a company......

There are a number of company setups.....plenty of threads on co setup

    companyformations.ie
omnipro.ie - I have used these, circa €300 with all documents provided
    www.companysetup.ie

Co set up timeframe agree with above poster
