was just wondering about importing lasers for pistols/aeg's and wondered if there is a class of laser or power range that is legal in Ireland and/or airsoft sites.. does anyone know of legalities on importing the ones you'd normally find on Ebay etc?.. thanks :)

From the airsoft forum charter (which you probably should have read):

    * While it is unclear of the leaglity of using lasers on airsoft devices discusssion of it is allowed here with the understanding that actually doing so may be illegal. Only lasers that meet the following criteria are legal in Ireland:

    - lasers of less than 5 milli Watts
    - in the light frequencies of 630 to 680nm

Which means that all Blue and Green lasers (which are out side of light frequencies of 630 to 680nm) are illeagle and should not be discussed here.

So you should be grand as long as you stick with red lasers.

A friend ordered a 150mW green laser from Hong Kong, 532nm and it came. Although he said took about a month to arrive.

He would need a licence for that, they can light things on fire let alone destroy your vision in a moment.

I certainly hope he doesn't play airsoft with it, I couldn't care less what damage he does to himself.

Anybody thats suffers from an eye injury from the above mentioned "ILLEGAL" laser is an Assault on a persons .as written in law

anysite that allows such a device has a lot to answer for

Well thanks for that. Nice to know your friends have no problem blatantly breaking Irish law/You have no problem publically telling everyone about it.

You can take a week off for that post. I'd suggest reading the charter before you post again.
