More then enough, unless you have other people using internet in the house at the same time. Go wired if possible.

Ping times will exceed 100ms on Three's broadband connection. Sucks for FPS games but can be ok for racing games etc.

That's exactly what I'm on and I've had no issues so far speedwise. :D

Sorry its vodafone landline, not mobile broad band.

According to their site upload is 384kbps, i'm currently on their up to 8 package, but am looking at going down in speed, as long as it don't hamper the gaming too much!! Upload speeds are the same for both packages, so by that wisdom, it shouldn't impact too much? Should it?

Download/Upload speed is some what irrelevant to online gaming. The sizes of the packets are so small compared to downloading something like a video that it doesn't matter.

The issue is latency (aka ping time), which is how fast you can communicate between your PS3 and the server in the UK or USA (not how fast you can download something from them)

Fixed line DSL should be pretty good. Mobile broadband will be terrible.

I use Eircom 3MB wirelessly and its near perfect! Only reason I havnt swapped to a mobile BB as its no where near as good for online gaming!
