    Hello all,
I got reconditioned rayburn royal solid fuel (no boiler) in my new house last week. Looks the biz.
The fella I bought it off fitted it and he said that I had a good pull on the chimney..my problem is that when I open the door of the fire-box a puff of smoke will come out with it even when I have a window open. Sometimes when the door is closed it will come out aswell.
    What can I do here??:(:(

    A great range cooker.
Make sure the sliding chimney damper on top is fully open whenever it is lit. Adjust the burn rate with the spinning wheel damper down below.
Before opening the door, you can flush through some of the smoke by opening the lower damper briefly.
For low smoke burning you should try to get the firebox very hot before restricting the damper and also use dry fuel. Once its glowing hot embers inside , you can keep it that way on surprisingly little fuel by almost closing the lower damper.

Hello recedite, thanks for your reply. I have done what you say. I've even opened the ash-box door to see and still a big blast of smoke will come out the fire-box door.
Have been burning nothing but dry timber and I tried some coal this eve but still the same:confused::confused:

I hope the top of your chimney is higher than the ridge tiles on the roof!
