    Hi

I am currently typing up a thesis for a mature student studying the BA in Art and Design (part-time).

Initially she gave me the first draft of her thesis, done over a year ago, with corrections/suggestions marked by her tutor, and with her amendments to be inserted.

Now she has contacted me, very upset, to say that her tutor has told the class that ONLY a clean copy of the original work handed in is to be submitted for final examination.

As someone who has been typing for students for over 6 years, I have never heard anything like this before and this lady will certainly fail on the work that she did previously if she is not allowed to make the changes her own tutor suggested.

Could somebody please tell me if this is common practice in GMIT or a serious lack of communication between student/tutor/department?

    Thank you

    Barbara
