Hi mods feel free to move.

Basically my bf of over 2 years broke up with me yesterday initially by text I might add. Thing is i've always loved spending time with friends and also chilling out on my own. Now, i'm single again and am worried about how to pick myself up again, you see all my best friends have emmigrated one just last week and I don't have such a wide social circle as I once did. I'm just turning 24 in a couple of weeks, and can see it being a gloomy birthday. It's one thing enjoying time on your own and quite another having to be on your own. Just looking for some advice I guess.

Do you have any work/college friends? If so you could ask them to come for a few drinks.

You can also join some sports or other types of clubs to meet new people.

    Thanks Kiera,

All my work mates are blokes and i'm a good bit younger than them and my college mates live about 60 miles away from me so not really visable. I'm trying to look at this as positively as possible and get back to the gym or maybe get a part time job and clear some debts while I have the extra time on my hands. I will look into evening classes of some sort. I just don't want to end up feeling alone.

Evening classes are great for meeting people. So are places like boards.ie. I've met some awesome friends on here that are friends for life :)

Maybe go along to a beers one night.....

If you ever feel alone you should go hang out with even a family member. Or log on here and we'll cheer you up :)

I've been meaning to go to a boards night but keep missing them.
