Hi. I'm reading Harvey Penick's Little Red Book. Enjoying it too.
In it he recommends having a heavy practice club.
    Here's one on this video.

    http://www.thegolfchannel.com/golf-videos/the-heavy-club-9189/?ref=32005

Interesting that the guy claims that Hogan, Player, Nicholas and Palmer all had a heavy club.

Does anyone know where I could get one? Can't seem to find any online.

    Zak.

do the same as Vijay Singh, he's got an old driver with lead weights stuck to it, you can buy the lead weights on ebay i presume, i havent checked!! you could also warm up left handed like Vijay too.

Come to think of it, one of the lads on the golf team in college had a warm up six iron, really heavy yoke, i'll find out where he got it and update you.

    As LOFT said....momentus.

Or if you want to try it yourself.......

get an old club, take off the grip, pour sand into the shaft and then seal the end (or you can open the hole on the end of the grip slightly and pour the sand in). As a final touch you could change the grip to one of the "training" grips.

You can also buy a weighted "doughnut" that slips over the club.......put it at the head end and swing.

There are aerodynamic ones that create resistance as you swing.

Great, thanks guys. The momentus sounds like a good plan. I may get the iron and the driver.
One more question if it's not too much to ask....I'm not a big guy, a bit smaller than average, not the strongest guy in the world either, I have skinny arms and wrists (although i'm not too puny!!!), and am a relative beginner...the weighted irons come in 3 different weights...

    Champions Swing Trainer 32oz
    Men's Swing Trainer Irons 40oz
    Momentus Signature 48oz

The Driver comes in 2 weights...

    Men's Swing Trainer Driver 36oz
    Tour Swing Trainer Driver 44oz

Just wondering what would be right for me. If you could advise, I'd greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks.

    Zak.

Go for the Mens option, but tbh I'd buy one or the other not both and my preference would be for the iron.

+1, I have the Iron and its all you'll need. Just be carefull and swing it easy until you have warmed up or you'll hurt yourself

You could probably save yourself a few quid by using a barbell if you had one lying around. That's what I do.You can grip it like a normal club and make a full swing with it, works well.Clubs feel light as a feather after it.

I'm not a fan of the heavy club at all......I like to feel the weight of the clubhead falling to the ball.....and I feel after swinging something heavy I just cant tell where the clubhead is at......
