    Hi,

So there's absolutely loads of those "Top End" apartments all over Dublin. Example, the Beacon in Sandyford.

Supposedly there are loads of them vacant.. I've been looking on daft and never really find too many of them. Are most of these listed with property agents like HOK, Lisney, CBRE etc as opposed to being just fired up on daft.

Just wondering, wouldn't mind taking one or a room next year for college.

What kind of money would you be talking for a semi-decent apartment?

    Thanks..

Lots of these apartments are sitting idle waiting for NAMA. 'The View' in Dundrum is practically empty, only one general listing for lettings on Daft. Block 3 of Wyckham Point is 90% complete and work has halted on it for now.

Many others may have been bought off the plans and the developer may be trying to chase the purchaser to complete the deal. These will not find their way into the rental market until those situations are resolved.

If the developer rents the property, he incurs a big stamp duty bill. There is also a lot of extra cost once a block is occupied. It may not be worth the landlord's while renting the apartments for less than a certain rent.

Thanks for the insight, I suppose it makes a lot of sense as to why they're not up for rent.

A lot of them are, but at premium prices.
