That's a great offer (without shopping around) as I have the model 1/2 up from this and it cost a lot more

Would be interested to know how much video 80GB will record when set to full 1080P?

PS - iBOOD shipped my "Mystery Box" today!

I guess it depends on how much AVCHD compresses things (I assume it's AVCHD being used.

    But for uncompressed...

    1920x1080 resolution = 2,073,600 pixels

    2,073,600 pixels @ 24bpp = 49,766,400 bits (49Mbits)

    49,766,400 bits / 8Mbits (8Mbits per Megabyte) = 6,220,800 bytes (6.2Mbytes)

    So, 6.2Mbytes per frame.

    6,220,800 bytes x 30 fps = 186,624,000 bytes/sec (187Mbytes/sec)
    6,220,800 bytes x 60 fps = 373,248,000 bytes/sec (373Mbytes/sec)

Does this mean a Gigabyte's gone in 3 seconds at 60fps?
Would only get 4 minutes before the drive is full or am I missing summat?

Technically, yeah. But that's uncompressed. I think the maximum mbit/s that AVCHD uses is around 25mbit/s.

Did a bit of googling while writing this replay and according to the last paragraph here, is says it does 1920x1080i @ 16mbit/sec. It also mentions at the top of the page that there's up to 9 hours full hd recording.

How is it for low light recording?

I'd be using it for recording gigs (legally) so it'd be used in dimly lit rooms.

Can't find any mention of it in reviews so far.
