I will be selling my car privately in the next number of weeks and am looking to get a realistic price on how its worth from someone in the know..

99 Honda Accord, sunroof, leather, air con, cruise con, all electrics. 2.0l petrol, a gem of a car and in great nick.. There's about 125k on the clock and it breezed through the NCT last autumn. I have been looking at similar models for sale online and they seem a bit high to me at around the 2,5k mark. I doubt it'd fetch that much in the current market.. Am I wrong? Also which is the best site to place the ad? Thanks in advance..

    €2300

Interesting Midnight. I will take it from your Avatar that you know what your talking about. ;) I was genuinely thinking 1,8 tops, but this is better news. Now all I have to do is find someone to pay it!

    Highest estimate I'd reckon.

Throw it in at €2,295 and take the first offer tbh.

Stick it on at €2500, anyone that's interested will make you an offer anyway.

if you dont want the hassle of waiting a while id suggest putting it at a fair competitive price. I had to sell a car recently and ut it on donedeal last night. Its already sold after getting about 15 people interested in it. Once you get a lot of interest in it you can ask for the full asking price. So if its low enough for people to call straight away and youre happy with that amount do it. I would suggest to put it a lot lower than on most other sites

The 2.0 litre petrol engine and mileage will no doubt put some people off in this country but the spec and decent NCT will appeal to many. Taxing it for 3 months might also help shift it faster.

I'd take the first offer of €2k or more on it.

Thanks for the info people, armed with this knowledge I hope to get a better price than expected. ;)

So did you sell in the end?

If I was selling that car I'd advertise it has suggested at €2500 ish, actually at €2450 as it seems loads cheaper then, I'd wait about a fortnight before lowering the price, realistically I wouldn't refuse any offer of €2000 or more for it. I would keep in mind though that cars can take weeks to sell, especially a 2.0 petrol in these diesel mad times.

I aint advertised it yet Midnight, still looking for a newer version to replace it with. Not the easiest of task to find the right one. I will post it at €2400 and if anyone offers 2 then I will take the hand off em! Will report back here when its done. Hope its not too long I am tired of searching for the right one by now.

Promised to come back when all has been resolved.. Found an 06 Accord and flogged the 1999 one privately. Ended up agreeing on €1500 so happy enough to let it go. Job done.
