Has anyone used this kennel and how did you find them? Wanna do some research before i find a place for my dog

I used these recently and must warn people how bad they are. I had brought my dog to the groomers there twice before and was very very happy with the service I received. So it was natural that when I went away I would leave my dog with them. I rang to book her in and was told they would take her for the five days, she would have her own room and the day i would collect her they would wash her for me. My dad dropped her down for me to Maynooth and, as there kennels are in Cavan, the brought her down. I left a bag of food and some toys with her as she is a very fussy eater. I rang and checked on her a few times and was told she was fine. I confirmed that my dad would collect her on the Friday as we would not be in till Fri night and they do not allow you to collect the dogs on Saturdays, which I thought was a bit strange, and he told me she would be washed and ready at 4. My dad rang them on Friday and was told that she wouldn't be ready till after 6 as they still had to bring her up from Cavan and get her washed. The dog he brought home was a dishevelled sad puppy. She was absolutely filthy, her coat was matted and you could smell other dogs off her. We had to wash her when we got her home. She also was very unhappy, she would not leave my side and did not want to play or eat or anything. I rang the groomers and was informed that she was washed but to bring her back and they would wash her again. They also never charged me. I had to tell the girl that i had not paid.
It is now 3 weeks later and i am still trying to get her things back. I have rung everyday and keep getting told that they are in cavan and that the guy has not brought them up yet. Now they are refusing to take my calls and call me back.

It is a sham and a horrible place and i will never take my puppy back there and would strongly discourage anyone going there.

Yes the place has a bad rep here in Cavan itself. Are you looking for a specific place in Cavan ? I can recommend one for you.

Sent my cocker here some years ago...

It sounded great.... they even collected him and dropped him back... so i should have bloody known....

and i really regretted it for months after... he came back stinking (even though they said they had washed him)... smelt of other dogs...he was a nervous wreck for weeks after his 5 days stay... he even defected each evening in the kitchen for two weeks after he stayed here.. he was 2 and fully house trained... he became very aggressive over food... this had never happened before and thankfully after a few weeks of training it hasn’t happened since... he was honesty depressed for about two weeks after his stay.

Never again... it should be shut down.

I did call up afterwards to see then place as a “perspective” customers... no wonder my guy was distressed.... it was FILTHY, three / four dogs per caged area.... very small...the yard etc was also filthy... IMO its reminded me of a tinkers yard..... horrible... horrible place.
