I was wondering if anyone could help me, I'm a single mother & I am about to start a full time job, what kind of tax would I be paying? I was told that I'd be entitled to the same marraige benefit would anyone know what that is ? thanks

    Hi Jessica

You are entitled to the single parent allowance in addition to the personal allowance. This combined equates to the married couple allowance so long as you are not co-habiting with someone else as a couple and the child is entitled to children's allowance with the DSFA.

Good luck with the new job.

    Kind Regards

You are also entitled to an increase in the amount of your income that you pay 20% tax at. Your lower rate band would be €40,400.
