any point in pursuing law?

    i have a 2.1 in law. i havent sat fe1s as i think im not gonna work my butt off if i cant get an apprenticeship...what are all the law students of ireland doing? should i keep going or abandon ship?

    How will you feel in five years time if you arn't qualified/working towards being a solicitor ? Ambivalent/unaffected or sorry you didn't try ?

    Anything else you actually want to do ?

    The first line of this post is in no way intended to relate to people who've lost jobs in law of late or who are finding it hard to get slots to train.

    I would say if you love it, stick with it.

    I know how easy it is to get disillusioned in law at the moment, particularly when you see the lengths people are going to to get traineeships etc. but I think that the prospects don't look great in alot of job areas at the moment, and that your best chance at succeeding will come from working in a profession that you are passionate about!

    FE1s are not the only way to get into a profession in law, have you considered Kings Inns? I'm not saying that it's any easier, but you do not rely on a firm for your training, and the work seems very rewarding if you can get it. The BL is also useful for getting jobs in the public sector, I've heard.
