Are incognito the only brand of lingual braces?
Is there a cheaper lingual brace alternative?
I've been quoted 7500 for incognito top and bottom.

incognito is just a brand just like toyota or nissan. they are popular at the moment because they are supposedly easier as the braces are customized for your teeth only versus having a stock bracket that is meant to fit all teeth.
also they are marketing very heavily with 2 day certification courses (there is very little training in lingual orthodontics is most ortho schools, i am led to believe).

anyway 7500 is a fair price, for a procedure that is not easy.

    Thanks Vishal.
So how much would the other brands of lingual braces cost, would they be around the same or are they likely to be less?

i think it would be hard to find somebody offering any other brand of lingual in ireland and it would be probably in around the same from any experienced practitioner

7500 for Incognito is about the going rate, it goes from about 7 to 8000 As you say Vishal, there is no posgraduate programme teaching lingual orthodontics with the exception of Hong Kong.

Other lingual systems exist but would cost about the same. You pay for aesthetics! In my opinion you would be better to go for the normal appliances or braces: half the price, much less discomfort, normal speech and faster treatment. Not to mention that your orthodontist has done thousands patients with normal braces and probably only a handful of Incognito. I know they dont look the best but it is only for a year or two!

    Hope this helps

I went to another ortho. Getting incognito on my top teeth for about 4000. I will only need them for about 12 months, he said the work is relatively minor and straightforward.

I take your point about the normal appliances but from a professional standpoint, the linguals are worth the extra time and money.

    Thanks for the response.:)
