Bodykit and colour dont suit it.

I know someone that sold a 1 owner, FSH one for about €2k a couple of months back. It was navy with grey leather. Had a full engine rebuild and everything. Body was rough in parts but would still have been a lot cheaper than that particular one. Lovely cars

Maybe i'm tacky but I think the body kit and colour suit it very well. It makes it a lot sleeker looking. I think the standard car has a tendancy to look clunky and the wheels sometimes look too small under it. This one looks very well imo.

    Totally over priced though.

There's a fella around Limerick driving a 156 GTA recently with the 3.2 V6. He puts petrol in it every day nearly.

I think those wheels, kit and colour suit the lines of the 156 more than the 166. The 166 looks much nicer standard with a genuine set of multispoke wheels. If you're buying anything buy the GTA 156, that might actually be sellable in years to come :P

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

Great car and can be had for very little. Know how to treat an Alfa and you'll be laughing (most of the time) :D

Best mate has an auto 3l V6 and for the summer he has a GTV 3l V6 too (no not in this country)

Ive been looking for a GTA for quite some time now. You wouldnt get one for anywhere near that kind of money though. Some lad in Dublin had a 2003 one with 30k on it for €9,000 about two weeks ago. I called about it but it didnt hang around for long. He was claiming 30mpg on the motorway which is the kind of driving i do.

    I may have to settle for a 2.0litre :(

That may be the one down this way so, because it's only around the last three weeks... It's 03 with an SO reg IIRC, although it has a different style front and rear number plate so you'd wonder was it tipped at some point recently. I'm not lying when I saw he's in there every second day at least filling up. Maybe he only puts in a few euro at a time :P

Edit: And I assume they'd still be making up around the 10k mark, if would have to be in the red though.

yum. +1 on the red - love it.

And it's auto, too, so ++1 imho.

    mmmm.........

We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

I had a 166, it was the 2.0. Lovely car to drive, comfortable too but costly to keep on the road.

that lad is an idiot. I called one day and they have no interest in selling it. Its a modern classic just sitting there seizing up as we speak. Why on earth would anyone buy it like? You could have a run in one from england with 30k miles for way way less and you wouldnt have to pay €2000 a year road tax.

a 7 year old engine with only 600miles on it cannot be healthy.

That 166 is lovely, but a 156 GTA is saloon perfection.

I just called about this again actually as I would be genuinely interested and my brother almost certainly would. I asked what the story was with it and I asked was it run regularly. I also pointed out that the price is a bit off. I didnt say it in a narky way or anything.

Asshole on the phone just said "okay, thats fine. No bother" while I was talking. He just hung up on me. I called back and asked why he did this and he said "thats the price and Im not answering any more questions about it. It'll be a collectors item".

What a complete asshole. When i buy my next car the only thing that is almost a certainty is that it will be an alfa of some sort and very likely a GTA. The new certainty I have is that it will NOT be from this shower of idiots.

that car will be there in a year. Guaranteed.

I wouldn't say he's laughing. It looks like from one of the photos that he was looking for over €52K at one stage! Think the 166 is slightly better value but not with that poxy bodykit.

Im delighted they are taking such a massive wallop on that car. They are a despicable shower in there. You would want to be clinically insane to buy that car for that much money. It will never move, not even as a collecters item. He was looking for 49,000 up until the ad was last updated.
