Am I entitled to a Medical Card?

Hi, I'm 20 years old. I visited my GP last week and he said that I should apply for a medical card. I suffer from asthma, hayfever and acne (so I have quite a few perscriptions to pay for) and he said he would write a letter about my illnesses to include with the form.

The problem is that I don't know what to put on the form because of my personal situation. As I said, I'm 20 - living at home; financially dependent on my parents (who have a medical card); I'm no longer employed but I'm not entitled to jobseeker's allowance because I'm not looking for full-time work at the moment; I'm a part-time student studying at night; and I do a bit of part-time work on the side but I only earn 60 euro a week.

Would somebody be able to give me some advice on filling in the medical card form?

you should be applying for the medical card because of the cost of medication, you will have to give your parents number as well.

I am getting the card because of the cost of medication and GP visits.

Do I fill in the school/college I'm attending and get a college stamp even though I'm only doing a part-time course.

    Can anyone help me...

I want to know if i am entitled to a Medical Card? I am 14 weeks pregnant, I dont live at home as I have my own place with my boyfriend... I work for a semi-state board (its only semi-state because of the pension) I do have weekly outgoings and like everyone else in the country, i took a paycut...my employer has also over-paid me and i am in the process of paying them back..so my wages has decreased by quite a bit... to be honest I dont go out every weekend i dont drive and i dont blown my money on usless things,,i really and truely dont earn an awful lot... I now im entitled to free medical care releated to my pregnancy but thats it...my doctors is quite expensive..its 70e everytime i go, and now that i am pregnant im prone to pick up every cold/infection and sore throat going and i cant take any medications.

Can anyone help me? Do you think i will be entitled to one?

    thanks guys :D
